Hologram display Muscat: projection, virtual tours and training for OmanServing Oman remotely from Amman and Riyadh
Nplay designs hologram displays, projection mapping, virtual tours and immersive training for heritage, museum, tourism and education organisations in Muscat and across Oman. We serve the GCC from Amman and Riyadh, produce Arabic and English content remotely and arrange on-site installation with you or a local integrator. The GCC hub covers the other markets.
A country with deep heritage and sites spread over long distances
Oman combines a long cultural history, a strong tradition of hospitality and a geography where sites, campuses and communities sit far apart. Muscat is the natural centre for museums, ministries, hotels and universities, but many of the places worth visiting and learning about are hours away by road. Oman Vision 2040 sets a long-term direction that includes culture, tourism and education, and those are the sectors where immersive technology helps most.
Nplay serves the GCC from Amman and Riyadh. We have no office, client, project or installation in Oman, and we do not claim one. We offer remote design and content production in Arabic and English, and on-site installation and commissioning by arrangement with you or a local integrator.
Four services fit Oman best. A hologram display Muscat museums and visitor centres can place in a gallery brings a story to life without touching the architecture. Projection mapping Oman venues can use on a historic facade or a hall turns a building into the screen. A virtual tour Oman institutions publish lets people reach a site or a campus without the journey. And immersive training gives learners a safe place to practise.
We describe each below and link to the detailed service pages.
Where Nplay fits in Muscat and beyond
Heritage first, then learning: four areas that match how Oman's institutions work.
Museum holograms and interactive galleries
Hologram screens, virtual promoters and interactive displays let historical figures and objects tell their own story, in Arabic and English.
Interactive museum design →Museum holograms and interactive galleriesFacades, floors and domes
Video mapping on a building exterior, floor projection in a hall and hologram screens in a gallery, designed to suit the architecture.
Projection mapping →Facades, floors and domesVirtual tours
360° and 3D tours that let travellers, schools and researchers visit a site, a museum or a hotel from a phone or a headset.
Virtual tours →Virtual toursVR training and virtual campus tours
Practice scenarios for technical and vocational training, and campus tours for open days, built for learners who cannot all travel to one site.
VR training →VR training and virtual campus toursTurning a fort wall, a hall or a dome into a storytelling surface
Projection mapping fits content to a real surface, so the building itself becomes the screen. It needs no glasses, no headsets and no change to the structure, which matters on heritage buildings where nothing can be drilled or altered. Projectors are chosen by throw distance, hidden where possible and calibrated on site.
Our reference is a delivered project in Jordan: a national military memorial museum where we installed hologram screens, a virtual promoter, floor projection, dome projectors and facade mapping in about three weeks on site. Read the case study for the full breakdown, and what actually gets installed for a practical overview.
For projection mapping Oman teams plan, the same method applies: survey the site, write the story with your curators, produce the 3D content in Amman and calibrate the show on site. Projectors can be leased for a two-to-four-day event such as a national celebration or a festival.
Oman scenarios and the Nplay answer
Indicative mappings to start a scoping call. We confirm scope after seeing the site or the drawings.
| Scenario | Nplay solution | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Museum gallery in Muscat | Hologram screens, virtual promoter and Nplay Beam playback | Figures and objects tell their story, scheduled and updated from the cloud |
| Historic building or public square | Facade projection mapping, leased for an event | A heritage story or a national-day message shown on the building itself |
| Regional heritage site far from the capital | 360° or 3D virtual tour | Schools, tourists and researchers visit remotely, in Arabic and English |
| University or college open day | Virtual campus tour and digital twin campus | Prospective students walk the campus from home |
| Technical or vocational training centre | VR training scenarios | Learners practise procedures in a safe virtual setting |
| Hotel or visitor centre | Virtual tour, hologram tour guide and signage | A multilingual preview and a guide that greets visitors |
Use cases we would scope first in Oman
- A museum hologram Oman galleries can use to let a historical figure introduce a hall in Arabic or English
- A virtual promoter at a museum entrance that welcomes visitors with a short looping message
- Facade mapping for a national celebration, a cultural festival or an exhibition opening
- A virtual museum or heritage tour with audio guides, object labels and archive photographs
- A hologram tour guide at a visitor centre or hotel lobby, telling the story in several languages
- Digital signage Oman venues manage from one dashboard: gallery labels, event schedules and wayfinding
- Dome or ceiling projection for halls where the existing projectors are badly placed
Practice, campus tours and digital twins for learners
Training is expensive and risky when learners must travel to a single site or practise on live equipment. Immersive training puts the procedure in a headset or on a screen, where a learner can repeat it until it is right. Our VR training page explains the approach, and Nplay Scholar, our 3D interactive training platform, is in development as a concept for institutions that want to build their own lessons.
For universities and colleges, a virtual campus tour serves open days and overseas applicants. We built a digital twin campus for a Jordanian university; see the digital twin campus use case and our article on virtual campus tours for open days.
Training content is produced in Arabic and English together, so one team can prepare both versions of a course. A VR training Oman institutions can reuse across several sites starts with a pilot on one procedure, which we scope with you.
Five steps from a Muscat brief to a live installation
Brief and site survey
We agree the audience, the story and the languages. Photos, drawings or a short video, or a survey by a local partner, tell us what the space allows.
Story and storyboard
We draft the narrative with your curators or trainers and sketch every surface or scenario before production begins.
3D production in Amman
Models, films, presenters filmed in our XR studio and training scenarios are built remotely and reviewed on a private link.
Installation by arrangement
Projectors, screens and players are installed with your team or a local integrator, guided by our engineers.
Calibrate, go live and update
The show is calibrated on site and playback is scheduled from the cloud. Updates and support follow the agreed scope.
Oman questions, answered
Does Nplay have an office or a project in Oman?
No. Nplay's offices are in Amman and Riyadh. We have no office, client, project or installation in Oman. We serve Oman remotely and arrange on-site work with you or a local integrator.
Can you install projection mapping on a heritage building?
Projection needs no change to the structure, so it often suits heritage buildings. We survey the surfaces, choose projectors by throw distance and calibrate on site. Installation and permissions are arranged with you or a local integrator.
Is a hologram display in Muscat visible without glasses?
Yes. Hologram screens, virtual promoters, floor projection and facade mapping are visible with the naked eye. The Halo Box uses a transparent LCD panel, so no glasses or headset are needed.
Can a virtual tour cover sites outside Muscat?
Yes. A virtual tour Oman visitors open in a phone browser can cover any site we can capture or model. Capture is arranged on site with you or a local partner, or built from drawings in our Amman studio.
Is your training platform available now?
VR training projects are available as custom work. Nplay Scholar, our 3D interactive training platform, is in development as a concept, so we describe it as a roadmap item and not a product to buy today.
