Hologram display is not a luxury anymore. It is a business need.

For years a hologram display was the thing you rented for a launch night and forgot. That picture is out of date. Today the question is simple: how do you show your product to a buyer who cannot touch it, or bring a client into your factory when they are in another country or sitting in their office? We have built hologram experiences since 2018, and here is why we now see it as a need, not a nice extra.

Hologram display is not a luxury anymore. It is a business need.

Key takeaways

  • A hologram solves a real problem: showing a product or a place that the customer cannot see in person.
  • It is not about the 3D effect. It is about attention, understanding and faster decisions.
  • Costs have dropped: hardware is cheaper and content can be reused across screens, web and showrooms.
  • Most objections come from old, badly made installations, not from the technology itself.
  • Start with one product and one location, then measure the conversations it creates.

From launch-night gimmick to everyday tool

The early hologram projects in our region were mostly spectacles: big budgets, one night, a crowd taking photos. Useful for buzz, hard to justify every month.

What changed is the job. Companies now use a hologram display to explain products, to sell where they have no shop and to make a stand or a lobby work harder every day. The effect is the hook. The explanation is the value.

The real need: showing what people cannot see

  • Products that do not travel. Heavy machines, large equipment, a full product range. A hologram shows the product at real scale, in motion, from every side.
  • Factories and sites customers cannot visit. A buyer in Riyadh deciding on a supplier in Amman, or a client who will not fly to see your line. Combine a hologram with a 3D virtual tour and they walk your factory from their office.
  • Products that are not built yet. Off-plan property, a new model, a custom order. You show it before it exists.
  • Inside details. Cut-away views of how something works, which a brochure or a flat video cannot explain.

A hologram display is affordable now

Two things changed the price. Hardware became cheaper and better: LED fan displays, transparent screens and boxed hologram displays are produced at scale. We source directly from manufacturers, which keeps quality and cost under control.

Second, content is reusable. One good 3D model can run on the hologram, on your website, in a virtual showroom and in sales presentations. You pay for the asset once and use it everywhere.

Every project is different, so we do not publish a single price. Our guide what a hologram project costs explains what drives the budget.

So why are people still against it?

We hear the same objections, and most are fair reactions to bad projects:

  • "It is a gimmick." It is, if nobody planned what it should explain or who should see it.
  • "It is not a real hologram." True for most displays, which are optical illusions. Customers do not care about the physics; they care whether they understood the product.
  • "It is too expensive." It was. Today the cost is closer to a good screen and good content.
  • "The content gets old." Only if it was built as a one-off. Plan updates from day one.

The technology is not the risk. Buying it without a plan is.

How to start

1. Pick one product or one place customers struggle to understand. 2. Decide where they will see it: shop, stand, lobby or remote meeting. 3. Build the 3D content so it can be reused online. 4. Measure conversations, demos booked and questions answered. 5. Expand only when it works.

Hologram display: frequently asked questions

Is a hologram worth it for a normal business?

It is worth it when you need to show something customers cannot see in person: a large product, a factory, an unbuilt project or how a product works inside. Without that need, a good screen may be enough.

Are business holograms real holograms?

Most are optical displays such as LED fans, transparent screens or boxed displays that create a floating 3D effect. For business the goal is understanding and attention, and they deliver that well.

Are holograms still expensive?

Much less than before. Hardware is cheaper and one 3D model can be reused on the hologram, the website and a virtual showroom. The budget depends mostly on size, interactivity and content.

Can a hologram help sell to customers in another country?

Yes, especially when combined with a 3D virtual tour or a live remote demo, so buyers can see your product and your factory without travelling.

Where does Nplay install holograms?

Nplay has teams in Amman and Riyadh and delivers hologram projects across Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
