The Idea

Every conference badge, visitor pass, hospital room sign and retail price tag gets printed once and thrown away. Nplay Slate reimagines that as a single reusable e-paper card: a zero-energy, lightweight display that can be updated instantly instead of reprinted. One card, used again and again, across hundreds of events, shifts and shoppers.

How It Works

NFC

Tap-to-update badges and cards. Content is written to the e-paper display over NFC in seconds — no cables, no reprinting, no waste.

Bluetooth

Long-life battery connectivity for real-time updates and GPS-style location monitoring, useful for tracking equipment, staff badges or high-value assets across a site.

LoRa Networking

A long-range, low-power network that can push new content to many cards at once — ideal for updating an entire venue's signage or a full batch of staff badges in a single action.

Where It Fits

Events & Conferences

Reusable delegate badges that can be re-programmed for the next conference, expo or trade show instead of being printed and discarded.

Hospitals

Digital signage for surgery rooms and patient rooms that updates instantly as schedules or patient status changes.

Corporate Offices

Digital staff badges and access cards that double as always-current desk and meeting-room signage.

Retail

Electronic shelf labels for dynamic pricing, updated instantly across a whole store from one dashboard.

Education

Reusable student IDs and classroom signage that replace stacks of printed handouts and name cards.

Why It Matters

One reusable card replaces hundreds of printed ones over its lifetime — less paper, less waste, and no reprint run every time details change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nplay Slate available today?

Nplay Slate is currently a concept in development, not yet a shipping product. We're sharing it publicly to gauge interest from events companies, hospitals, offices and retailers in Jordan and Saudi Arabia before finalizing the hardware.

What makes it different from a normal digital badge?

Most digital badges need constant power and a live network connection. Nplay Slate's e-paper display holds its content with zero ongoing power draw, and can be updated over NFC, Bluetooth or a LoRa network without needing to be plugged in or reprinted.

Can it be used for asset or staff tracking?

Yes — the Bluetooth-enabled version is designed to support real-time location monitoring, so the same card used for a staff badge or access pass can also help track where equipment or people are on a site.

How do I get involved?

Get in touch through our contact page. We're especially interested in hearing from event organizers, hospitals, offices and retailers in Jordan and Saudi Arabia who print a lot of badges, signage or price tags today.
